Job description

Manage and monitor the process of conceiving and creating design work for the Brands within Nakheel Retail, ensuring consistency of brand identity and adherence to agreed strategy via enforcement  of corporate  guideline


Manage and implement graphic design related projects whilst ensuring the image of each entity under Nakheel Retail is achieved and maintained. The job holder is required to ensure that agreed cost, time and quality parameters are adhered to in order to maximise Return on Investment


Brief external agencies and manage the delivery of work produced as per brand guidelines. Review and influence the work of external service providers for quality, cost and validity against original user briefs


Keep abreast of latest global trends and developments in conceptualisation, design and related issues to help strengthen/develop ones approach to design and recommend their implementation within the Company. This includes the need to maintain contact with external agencies, service providers and professional bodies on new and recent developments in the creative, printing and film separation techniques


Advise and guide the department on creative briefs and standards for work that has been outsourced to external advertising agencies


Evaluate and recommend external service providers for projects to the manager. For example, a new system of displaying exhibition material, which will enhance the graphics produced, Photography – specify a photographer for specific styles required for job, preferably if you could do it


Manage and coach team who may be doing the similar job, guiding them to improved performance through continuous training and development. To deal with staff issues as they arise offering solutions and support. Coach, guide and monitor the graphic design team on creative design issues so that the overall calibre and performance of the team meets corporate expectations and requirements


Should have the ability to deliver both on deadline and to the highest executional expectation

Qualification :

Degree in Art and Design. A Diploma in Graphic Designing will be an added advantage


Experience :

three plus years’ experience in the creative unit of an agency/company of which 2 years should have been as a Senior Designer/Art Director working on Corporate identity

Experience in budget management and people leadership


Skills :

Must be very well organized with strong time management skills and must be detail oriented

Good professionalism, verbal, written and listening skills

Understanding of the impact of Graphic Designing

Should have excellent knowledge on softwares Adobe Illustrator, PhotoShop, QuarkXpress and Flash to maximise their abilities in the production of creative artworks. The job holder needs to have a detailed understanding of printing techniques and film separation techniques along with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
